Farmer’s Markets
– Smith Farms has returned from last year and are set up on the northeast corner of Meridian and Hwy 24.
– Another Farmer’s Market sits in the curve of Old Meridian just west of the Fire Administration Building (Old Station One).

WOMEN ON WEIGHTS, new sessions start first Monday of each month, 9 a.m. or 11 a.m. Topics covered include major muscle groups, weight machines and free weights. MR. Two Levels. TEENS ON WEIGHTS, new classes start first Monday of the month. Mon / Wed., 4 p.m.-5 p.m. Gain strength while learning the proper techniques and form from a certified personal trainer. MR Residents $40 / non-residents $50.

DRAGONMAN’S 18th ANNUAL MACHINE GUN SHOOT, Sat., Sept. 11 and Sun., Sept. 12, at 1225 Dragon Man Drive 80929. They will rent out 200 machine guns to the public. At the end of each day, they will do a “mad minute,” where all the machine guns will be shot at once. Uzi’s, Mack-10s, AK-47s, M-16s, MP-5s, H&Ks, silenced guns, 50 cals, 20 mms, Belt fed machine guns, canon and mor4e. Cost to shoot depend on caliber and how many rounds. Avg cost for M-16 and AK47 is $50 for 120 rounds. Belt feeds, 50 rounds, $35, Uzi’s $10 for 25 rounds. Cash only. Instructors on hand. Will also demo flame thrower and blow up cars.

SECRET LIFE OF A SNOWFLAKE, Oct. 25, time TBD, High Prairie Library. The event will be geared to grade school and middle school children. Kenneth G. Libbrecht, a Physics Prof at Caltech, will speak on “The Secret Life of a Snowflake”. He will have photographs of snow crystals, and will talk about the science explaining why snow crystals grow into so many shapes. He has one children’s book on snowflakes, and the other book slated for the Children’s All Pikes Peak Reads is about Snowflake Bentley.
